ABOUT ME
Hello there!
My name is Chris Palmer, a Tennessee native living in Vancouver British Columbia. I moved to Canada over 8 years ago to pursue my career in the Animation and Film industry as a Digital Lighting Artist, fell in love with the landscape and never left.
As long as I can remember I have been in love with capturing the world through photography. That spark came from a scuba diving trip when I was 10 years old. Snorkeling above my parents, my Dad bought me under the water, put his spare regulator in my mouth, and handed me his underwater camera. Whether he gave me the camera to hold or for me to use, it doesn’t matter….I used it anyways! After developing the slide film and seeing what we captured, I was hooked! At 16 I worked all summer to buy my first Nikon film camera from a local pawn shop and then the rest is history. Now, 25 years later I am still capturing the beauty of this world through the lens of my camera.
Whether I am on a snow covered mountain peak or amongst the trees in a forest, you will usually find me with my furry golden companion, Boba. My tenacious Golden Retriever usually ends up being the subject of many of my images, nestled in the composition of so many of my epic landscape photos.
My entire life I have lived with by one simple rule….
“LIVE your life, so you can tell stories about it later.”
I have always been a teller of stories, and within my captured imagery, lies the proof of a life well lived.
